A research team, led by Professor Ikuko Sakai of the Graduate School of Nursing at Chiba University, has developed a Japanese version of the Implementation Leadership Scale (ILS), a scale originally developed in the United States to measure the leadership of nurse managers for utilizing research findings in clinical settings. The team has also verified its reliability and validity. This development now makes it possible in Japan to measure the strategic leadership of nurse managers for implementing EBP (evidence-based practice) to utilize research findings in the field, enabling international comparative studies.

This research team consists of Assistant Professor Masatoshi Saeki of Chiba University, Project Lecturer Ai Tomotaki of Tokai University, Professor Hiroki Fukahori of Keio University, Professor Takeshi Yamamoto of Sapporo Medical University, Professor Masakazu Nishigaki of the International University of Health and Welfare, Professor Chiyo Matsuoka of Konan Women's University, and Ms. Emi Yasuda of the National Institute of Public Health. The results of this research were published online in the academic journal *Journal of Nursing Management* on October 23, 2023.
