Keio University

Keio University relocated to the former residence of the Shimabara Domain in Mita in 1871, and for over 150 years since then, it has shared its history with the town of Mita. This exhibition looks back at Mita-dori Street as a college town in the area surrounding Keio University, and through the izakaya (Japanese pub) "Tsurunoya," where many students and faculty members gathered for half a century from the late 1960s, it re-examines the academic culture of Keio University. We hope this will be an opportunity to reflect on what is now fading away along with the characteristics of a college town.
