Olfactory Training Device "yokun" Wins Multiple International Design Awards—A KGRI and Keio SDM Joint Research Project

The olfactory training device "yokun," developed as a joint project between the Keio University Global Research Institute (KGRI) and the Keio University Graduate School of System Design and Management (Keio SDM), has won five awards in international design competitions.

It was selected as a Winner in two categories, "Design for Elders" and "Design for Social Awareness," in the Society-Design for Society division of the European Product Design Award 2022 (hosted in the USA); a WINNER in the Excellent Product Design Household category of the German Design Award 2023 (hosted in Germany); a WINNER at the Asia Design Prize 2023 (hosted in South Korea); and was selected for the Shortlist in use at the London International Creative Competition (hosted in the UK).

Going forward, research and development of "yokun" as an olfactory training device will continue, with a focus on the continuity of training.
