On Saturday, March 25, the Keio University Athletic Association will hold the 16th Sakura Sports Festa at the Shimoda Student Village (Hiyoshi-honcho, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama) with the theme of "Interaction between the Local Community and Students."
The Sakura Sports Festa is an event voluntarily planned and run primarily by members of the five Athletic Association clubs active in the Shimoda area (baseball, rugby football, soccer, field hockey, and soft tennis) to express their gratitude to the community.
The event aims to make the Keio University Athletic Association more accessible to the local community, deepen the exchange between them through the unique medium of sports, and build a cooperative and lasting relationship.
On the day of the event, activities will include the "Shimolympics," where people of all ages, from children to the elderly, can experience the fun of sports, as well as hands-on workshops by each club and stage performances by local residents. The rugby field will also be open as a free space, where visitors can freely enjoy the spacious artificial turf ground.
