A research team led by Professor Hiromitsu Maeda of the College of Life Sciences and Specialized Researcher Kazuhisa Yamasumi of the Ritsumeikan Global Innovation Research Organization at Ritsumeikan University, in a joint effort with Kyoto University, Keio University, Kindai University, Ehime University, and JSR Corporation, has revealed that π-electron cations with dipoles can stack between species of the same charge, enabling the modulation of physical properties and the emergence of semiconductor characteristics originating from their aggregated morphology. The results of this research were published in "Angewandte Chemie International Edition" on December 27, 2022 (local time).
