A research group led by Tomoya Kojima (a first-year student in the Doctoral Programs at the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Keio University), Professor Koichi Asakura and Senior Assistant Professor Taisuke Banno of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the same university, and Professor Hiroyuki Kitahata of the Graduate School of Science at Chiba University has successfully induced a phenomenon where micrometer-sized oil droplets form a group when irradiated with light, and a pattern is spontaneously formed around them. The results of this research were published in the online edition of the American scientific journal "Cell Reports Physical Science" on January 5, 2023 (EST).
