Launch of the "Global Jukebox" Traditional Performance Database—5,776 Audio Recordings Representing 1,026 Cultures Now Interactively Available

The Global Jukebox (The Global Jukebox), an online tool for searching audio recordings of music and traditional performance from around the world, has now been released to the public and researchers. This is the work of a 17-member research team that includes Dr. Anna L. C. Wood of the Association for Cultural Equity (New York, USA); Associate Professor Patrick Savage of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University (Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture); Mr. Sam Passmore, a 2021 Project Professor at the university's Graduate School of Media and Governance; and Hideo Oogaya, a Master's student at the same graduate school.

The results of this research were published in the open-access journal "PLOS ONE" on November 2 (local time).
