The research and development project for Moonshot Goal 1 of the Moonshot Research and Development Program led by the Cabinet Office, " Liberation from the Body's Constraints through the Augmentation of Physical and Perceptual Abilities " (Project Manager: Ryota Kanai; lead institution: Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR); hereinafter the Moonshot Kanai Project), has released the "Brain-Tech Guidebook ver. 1.0" on brain-tech (neurotechnology), a technology that utilizes the fusion of neuroscience knowledge and technology. This guidebook summarizes the current status and challenges of the technology, including points for general consumers to note for a correct understanding of commercially available brain-tech products and information that can serve as a reference for businesses in their research and development. It is expected that this guidebook will promote a proper understanding of brain-tech in society.
