  • Thoroughly elucidated the pathogenic mechanisms of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC), an intractable cancer, through comprehensive genomic analysis.

  • Gastrointestinal NEC is a rare cancer and is rarely indicated for surgery at the time of diagnosis, making it difficult to obtain research samples. As a result, its genomic abnormalities have remained largely unclarified.

  • Based on the newly discovered pathogenic mechanisms of gastrointestinal NEC, it is expected to promote drug repositioning of molecularly targeted drugs currently in development and new drug discovery.
