Keio University
Tokyo Dental College
As announced in the press release dated November 26, 2020, "Discussions Begin on the Integration of the School of Dentistry of Tokyo Dental College into Keio University and the Merger of the Corporations," Keio University (located in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kohei Itoh; hereinafter "Keio University") and Tokyo Dental College (located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Chair of the Board of Directors: Yoshinobu Ide; hereinafter "Tokyo Dental College") have been holding discussions toward the integration of the School of Dentistry and the merger of the corporations (hereinafter "the integration and merger"), with a target date of April 2023.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about an unprecedented crisis for society, far exceeding all expectations. The environment surrounding education, research, and medical care has been forced to undergo significant changes, and the future remains uncertain and unpredictable. Under these circumstances, Keio University and Tokyo Dental College have decided to review the schedule that was targeted at the start of the discussions and will continue these discussions without setting a new target date.
Going forward, Keio University and Tokyo Dental College will continue to respect each other's history and current situation. We will deepen our close and positive collaboration in the fields of education, research, medical care, and corporate management, giving careful consideration to ensure that the integration and merger do not result in any disadvantages for either party, and that students, in particular, are the primary beneficiaries. We will continue to hold discussions regarding the integration and merger.
