  • We have successfully isolated and cultured neural stem cells from the naked mole-rat, the longest-living rodent, which is resistant to aging and cancer.

  • We found that naked mole-rat neural stem cells proliferate more slowly and are more resistant to DNA damage compared to mouse neural stem cells.

  • It is suggested that these characteristics of the neural stem cells may be a factor in preventing their depletion and dysfunction throughout the long lifespan of the naked mole-rat.
