Discovery of a New Mechanism for the Proper Development of Neuronal Processes

A research group led by Lecturer Takao Kono and Professor Mitsuharu Hattori of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagoya City University; Assistant Professor Yoshihiko Kawasaki of the National Institute of Genetics; and Professor Kazunori Nakajima of the Department of Anatomy, Keio University School of Medicine, has discovered a new mechanism for how neurons properly develop their processes during brain formation. The findings were published online in The Journal of Neuroscience, the journal of the Society for Neuroscience, on October 2 (October 3, JST), ahead of print publication.
