Keio University has established the AI and Advanced Programming Consortium (AIC) (Representative: Professor Kohei Ito, Faculty of Science and Technology), which is open to all students interested in AI and programming activities (hereinafter referred to as AI activities) and those who wish to acquire AI skills. AI and advanced programming rooms and AI server rooms will be set up on both the Hiyoshi Campus, where first- and second-year students from seven faculties study, and the Yagami Campus of the Faculty of Science and Technology. The consortium will: 1) provide students with advanced computing resources, 2) conduct AI and programming workshops tailored to different skill levels, 3) hold various AI and programming contests, and 4) offer individual AI and program usage consultation sessions. Its most significant feature is that advanced students with AI expertise will serve as instructors and consultants, and will also plan and manage the contests. University faculty, staff, and members of corporate partners will join in the discussions to help shape the environment and direction. This encourages AI activities "of the students, by the students, for the students," forging a new path for developing the AI and IT talent that will lead academia and industry in the future.
