Keio University (President: Akira Haseyama), Nomura Holdings, Inc. (Representative Executive Officer, President and Group CEO: Koji Nagai; hereinafter "Nomura Holdings"), and Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (President: Mikio Ikegaya; hereinafter "Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking") established the Japan Financial Gerontology Association (hereinafter "the Japan Financial Gerontology Association"), a general incorporated association, on April 1, 2019.
As we enter an era of longevity and aging, often referred to as the "100-year life," interest in and expectations for financial gerontology are growing. Keio University, Nomura Holdings, and Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking established a joint study group last year and have been in discussions toward the establishment of the Japan Financial Gerontology Association. The Japan Financial Gerontology Association aims to promote public knowledge of financial gerontology and to develop human resources capable of applying this knowledge to financial services and other areas.
In addition, Keio University, Nomura Holdings, and Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking will collaborate to support the Japan Financial Gerontology Association, continue their initiatives in financial gerontology, and contribute to the further improvement of services in Japan's financial industry.
