Since 2018, the Keio University Faculty of Science and Technology has been conducting an industry-academia collaborative project aiming for "the world's cleanest subway air." To date, it has published the results of field surveys showing that PM2.5 concentrations in subway station air can reach up to five times those found above ground. These findings have been published in academic journals and featured in media such as TV and newspapers, attracting widespread public interest.

The Keio University Faculty of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Japan Association of Aerosol Science and Technology, will hold a symposium on the environment of enclosed spaces such as subways on Saturday, May 18, at the Keio University Hiyoshi Campus. We invite the press to cover this symposium.
