The Keio University Graduate School of System Design and Management (Keio SDM) and IBM Japan, in collaboration with the Keio University Athletic Association Tennis Team, will launch a joint study on methods for utilizing data and on coaching techniques in tennis. This initiative will begin by collecting performance data (statistical data) at the Yokohama Keio Challenger International Tennis Tournament 2019 (organized by Keio University; secretariat: Keio University Athletic Association Tennis Team), an international tournament to be held this March (hereafter, Yokohama Keio Challenger). The same methods will then be applied to future matches and practices of the Keio University Athletic Association Tennis Team. The project will proceed with a joint study on how to leverage the collected data and refine coaching methods.
The initial results of this joint study will be released during the men's tournament quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals (March 1–3) of the Yokohama Keio Challenger. The results will be available at the Mamushidani Tennis Courts on Hiyoshi Campus and on the official Yokohama Keio Challenger website. We welcome media coverage of this event.
