From Monday, February 25 to Sunday, March 10, 2019, the international tennis tournament "Yokohama Keio Challenger International Tennis Tournament 2019" (hereafter, Yokohama Keio Challenger) will be held at the Mamushidani Tennis Courts on the Keio University Hiyoshi Campus. Starting with the 2019 tournament, the event has been renamed to reflect a deeper partnership with the City of Yokohama.
The men's tournament is a Challenger Tour event sanctioned by the Association of Tennis Professionals (hereafter, ATP), and this year marks its 10th anniversary. Professional players from around the world will gather to compete and improve their world rankings. While there are two ATP Challenger Tour events held in Japan, this is the only one hosted by a university and primarily run by students.
Following last year's success, a women's tournament, an ITF Women's Circuit event sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation (hereafter, ITF), will be held concurrently again this year. This tournament will also feature professional players, mainly promising young athletes, from around the world aiming to climb the world rankings.
During the tournament period, numerous events will also be held, including "Tennis Improvement Methods for Adults," kids' and junior tennis schools, wheelchair tennis exchanges, and autograph sessions with participating players.
We kindly request that you list this tournament in your event calendars and provide media coverage.
