This year (2018) marks the 150th anniversary of the Meiji era and the 75th anniversary of the student mobilization of 1943. In 2013, the Keio University Fukuzawa Memorial Center for Modern Japanese Studies launched the "Keio University and the War" Archive Project and has been conducting research on the wartime period. A symposium and research presentation meeting will be held over two days, including the exact 75th anniversary of the student mobilization (December 1, the day of enlistment in the Imperial Japanese Army). The first day will feature a symposium by the Center's researchers, and the second day will feature research presentations by faculty and students who have conducted various studies related to Keio University during the war. The presentations will include multifaceted discussions on the significance and challenges of researching the wartime period 75 years later, as well as remaining issues.

Additionally, an exhibition of materials collected by the Center will be held at the venue. We would appreciate it if you could list this in your event calendars and provide media coverage.
