Since the 2012 academic year, Keio University has been offering the Keio University Gakumon no Susume Scholarship, a grant-type scholarship for students from outside the Tokyo metropolitan area that does not require repayment and can be applied for before enrollment. To encourage even more outstanding and diverse students to aspire to enroll at Keio, some of the conditions have been revised, and the application guidelines for students enrolling in the 2019 academic year have now been released.

With this revision, the number of prospective recipients will be increased from 500 to over 550, the grant amount for the first year of enrollment will be increased by 200,000 yen, and the grant amount for students with outstanding academic performance from the second year onward will also be increased. As a result, students who are recognized for their outstanding academic performance will be able to study at some faculties with a tuition burden that is effectively about half that of a national university.

In addition to scholarships, Keio University is also actively working to expand its student dormitories. Keio will continue to provide attractive support to ensure that prospective students from all over Japan do not give up on higher education for financial reasons.
