Keio University has decided to confer an honorary doctorate on Mr. Richard L. Armitage in recognition of his significant contributions to the stability of international relations, including Japan-U.S. relations, through his engagement in various negotiations and activities in countries around the world, particularly in Asia, and for his great achievements in education and research through dialogue and teaching with researchers and students. An honorary doctorate conferment ceremony and a commemorative lecture by Mr. Armitage will be held on Friday, June 8. We cordially invite the press to cover this event.
