Life Science Innovation Network Japan, Inc. (head office: Nihonbashi-Honcho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; chairman of the board: Hideyuki Okano; hereinafter "LINK-J"), which operates a platform for creating new industries in the life science field, and the Keio University Institute for Advanced Biosciences (location: Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture; Director: Masaru Tomita), which plays a central role in the Tsuruoka Science Park, a biocluster in Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture, signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual collaboration on April 1, 2018.
Through this collaboration, LINK-J and the Keio University Institute for Advanced Biosciences will work together to promote the commercialization and industrialization of the life science field and contribute to the creation of innovation and new industries through events, personal exchanges, and information sharing. LINK-J and the Keio University Institute for Advanced Biosciences have already planned and held collaborative events, such as the "LINK-J x Tsuruoka Science Park" event series (a three-part series with the first event held in March 2018, followed by events in May and July) to introduce the initiatives of the Tsuruoka Science Park, and a tour of the Tsuruoka Science Park (September 2018). Going forward, they will continue to hold events to stimulate personal exchanges and information sharing with the participation of venture companies originating from the institute.
