On Monday, December 18, 2017, Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Hoshino) and Kanagawa Chuo Transport Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hiratsuka-shi, Kanagawa; President: Yasunori Hori) of the Odakyu Group, and Keio University (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Akira Haseyama) concluded a partnership and cooperation agreement concerning research on cutting-edge technologies, regional revitalization, human resource development, and educational activities.

Shonandai Station on the Odakyu Enoshima Line is the nearest station to Keio University's Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and many students, pupils, faculty, and staff use Kanagawa Chuo Transport buses. In fiscal year 2019, the first graduating class of Keio Yokohama Elementary School is scheduled to advance to Shonan Fujisawa Chutobu Junior High School, further deepening the relationship with the local community. Through this agreement, the parties will mutually cooperate on research into advanced technologies such as autonomous bus driving, as well as on regional revitalization initiatives at student residences operated by the Odakyu Group. The Odakyu Group and Keio University will further promote partnership and cooperation to solve social issues and aim for the sustainable development of society and the region.
