This fiscal year, the Graduate School of System Design and Management at Keio University and Kohoku Ward, Yokohama City, have signed a partnership agreement aimed at contributing to their mutual development through sports-related initiatives and the exploration of data utilization.

As part of this partnership agreement, a class will be conducted for fifth-grade students at Yokohama Municipal Hiyoshidai Elementary School. Drones and GPS devices will be used to collect sports data, which will then be utilized to improve sports performance. The Keio University Athletic Association Rugby Football Club will cooperate in this initiative.

This initiative will allow elementary school students in the ward to experience the latest sports data utilization methods adopted by top athletes. At the same time, the university and the ward will collaborate to build excitement for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, which will also be held in the ward at the International Stadium Yokohama.
