The Mita Public Speaking Event began at Keio University in 1874 (the 7th year of the Meiji era) and celebrated its 700th event in July 2015. The 704th Mita Public Speaking Event will be held on Wednesday, July 5, featuring a lecture by Makoto Ida, Professor Emeritus of Keio University and Professor at Chuo Law School, titled "Changes in Society and Changes in Criminal Law."
