The Keio University Athletic Association Track and Field Club has launched an initiative this year to strengthen its long-distance running events, titled the "Keio Hakone Ekiden Project." This project was established to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Track and Field Club's founding this year, and it aims to improve overall athletic performance in long-distance events, including participation in the main Hakone Ekiden race. This project is also a groundbreaking initiative that works in conjunction with the research projects of the Running Design Lab, established at the Keio Research Institute at SFC. The Keio University Athletic Association Track and Field Club will continue to bring together the collective wisdom from both within and outside Keio to cultivate student-athletes who exemplify the "bunbu-ryodo" ideal of excelling in both academics and sports, aiming for even greater achievements in the next 100 years.
