A research group including Momiji Ara (6th-year student, Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy), Keisuke Kiyomiya (Assistant Manager, Department of Pharmacy, University Hospital), Hitoshi Kawazoe (Associate Professor, School of Medicine), and Hisaichi Ohtani (Professor, School of Medicine) developed a Japanese version of an index to measure the attitudes of the elderly and caregivers toward "reducing medication"

Polypharmacy is a global challenge, and the involvement of patients and families is essential for its optimization. In this study, we validated the rPATD (the revised Patients' Attitude Towards Deprescribing), an internationally used index that measures the attitudes of patients and caregivers toward "reducing medication," in Japan and confirmed its applicability.
