Lecture Held to Commemorate Professor Koji Hase Receiving the Commendation for Science and Technology by the MEXT Minister

Professor Koji Hase ( Department of Biochemistry ) received the Prize for Science and Technology

(Research Category) in the 2022 Commendations for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

To commemorate this, Professor Hase gave a lecture on his award-winning research and his outlook for the future.

The lecture began with opening remarks by Vice-President Yuko Kitagawa. After the remarks, Vice-President Kitagawa presented Professor Hase with the certificate and plaque for the MEXT Minister's Award.

This was followed by the presentation of a bouquet of flowers from Hidemi Misawa, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and a commemorative gift from Daisuke Takahashi, Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry.

The lecture was chaired by Professor Arita, who received the same award last year. The audience listened intently to Professor Hase's lecture, "Multi-organ crosstalk mediated by gut metabolites," which was followed by a lively Q&A session.

The lecture concluded with closing remarks from Vice-President Eishi Okada, bringing the successful event to a close.
