2026 Faculty of Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony

On Wednesday, January 28, the 2026 Faculty of Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony was held in the Main Auditorium of the Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus.

During the ceremony, following the opening remarks by Makoto Arita, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Toru Takebayashi, Dean of the School of Medicine, and Tomoko Nagata, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, delivered heartfelt "words of farewell" as fellow medical professionals. Additionally, Hisakazu Ohtani, Director of the University Hospital Department of Pharmacy, and Katsunori Yamaura, Director of the Faculty of Pharmacy University Community Pharmacy, gave instructions on the mindset required for hospital and pharmacy practice, respectively, from the perspective of those receiving the students.

Afterward, Makoto Arita, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Tomonori Nakamura, Director of the Center for Social Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Care Sciences, personally handed each student a brand-new white coat featuring the Keio University emblem on the left shoulder on stage.

In a solemn atmosphere, after everyone donned their white coats simultaneously, a student representative read the "Oath," concluding with the following expression of determination: "I hereby pledge that on the day I complete all my practical training, I will return having grown as a medical professional and as a person, and will step forward with the confidence and resolve to contribute to society as a pharmacist in the future."

Finally, Vice-President Yuko Kitagawa offered words of encouragement, and the students took to heart once again the significance of participating in clinical practice as pharmacists.

The 2026 pharmacy and hospital practical training will begin on Monday, February 16.
