The role of executive vice-president involves assisting the president as well as supervising and coordinating the university’s overall operations. Appointed from among the vice-presidents, the executive vice-president’s role exists primarily to create and plan functions overseeing academic affairs, research, and medical care, as well as coordinating between the university’s undergraduate faculties together with its graduate schools, and Keio headquarters.
