Center Overview
In July 2011, Keio University was selected as the Northeast Asia Sub-Regional Node (SRN) for the Asia-Pacific Adaptation Network (APAN, headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand), which is led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It is recognized as an international hub for education, research, and public awareness activities related to climate change adaptation. This center is an educational and research facility within Keio established to support these activities. The center internationally disseminates the environmental research findings of Keio University, provides a platform for climate change adaptation research in the Asia-Pacific region, and, based on the Environmental Innovator Program at the Graduate School of Media and Governance, cultivates high-level environmental professionals who research and implement climate change mitigation and adaptation measures.
