2012 Action Plan

■ Activities Continuing from the Previous Fiscal Year: Background, Rationale, and Goals

In fiscal year 2012, in accordance with the contract with the European Commission, we will continue to hold the Keio EU Study Group and the EU Law Seminar (scheduled for a total of seven sessions, starting April 28), as well as special lectures (as needed). The aim is to maintain and strengthen the EU research network among researchers from various academic fields, government officials, and businesspeople in Japan and Europe.

■ New Activity Goals, Content, and Implementation Background for Fiscal Year 2012

The new activity goal for fiscal year 2012 is to further strengthen our network. Specific examples of plans to achieve this are as follows:

  • A special lecture is scheduled to be given by Professor Antonina Bakardjieva Engelbrekt, Director of the Institute for European Law at Stockholm University (May 19).

  • A special lecture is scheduled to be given by Professor Miguel Maduro, former Advocate General at the European Court of Justice (November 8).

The background for this implementation is the need to further reinforce the network that was established by fiscal year 2011.
