Center Overview

In an international environment transitioning to a multipolar society, the frameworks, concepts, and missions of systems are becoming extremely complex, forming systems of systems. There is a growing demand for symbiosis and adaptability to environmental changes, and network-centric systems, with their highly intertwined mutual interactions, are becoming increasingly prominent.

The purpose of this research center is to conduct pioneering research on strategic systems engineering and system design and management—defined as "a multidisciplinary approach and means for the successful realization of systems"—and to promote technological development that freely utilizes the results of this research.

Keywords and Main Research Themes

  • Energy, space, transportation, and robot system design

  • Road traffic systems that consider vulnerable road users

  • Model-driven system design

  • System design analysis of large-scale scientific experiments utilizing zero-gravity conditions

  • Solving problems related to the climate and culture of individuals, workplaces, and organizations in technological systems

  • Crisis management systems for large-scale, complex systems

Fiscal Year 2008 Business Plan

The center will participate in the establishment of the "Center for Education and Research of Symbiotic, Safe and Secure System Design" and conduct research related to energy, space, transportation, and robot system design to promote the Global COE program.
