Summary

The Research Center for Music Science (RCMuS) is dedicated to the scientific study of music. Guided by our philosophy, "For the Future of Music, For the Music of the Future," we aim to elucidate the scientific basis of music—ranging from its origins, evolution, universality, and diversity to the underlying principles of music perception, cognition, generation, and creation. Our mission is to promote research and education in music science by investigating the effects of music on the brain, mind, and body of living organisms, as well as its impact on individuals, groups, and society. We are committed to returning the knowledge gained from these endeavors to society.
