Security
Summary
This project explores what kinds of risk (will) exist and how the media report them in democratic societies. It focuses on political information, the quality and diversity of the news, the concentration and diffusion of the media, the contested and conflicted relations between politics and society, and the uneven spread of political knowledge. By conducting comparative researches in Asia and beyond, the project aims to clarify the characteristics of each country and extract certain transnational patterns as well. It will provide a rich understanding of the contemporary democracies and predict future paths of democracies.
