[NEWS] Masatoshi Kokubo Receives the 13th JSPS Ikushi Prize

Masatoshi Kokubo , a researcher at the Graduate School of Law, a student in its Doctoral Programs, and a member of KGRI, has been awarded the 13th JSPS Ikushi Prize.

Mr. Kokubo is conducting pioneering research on "freedom of cognitive processes" from both legal and neuroscientific perspectives in KGRI's Internet of Brains-Society (IoB-S) Project and the 2040 Independence and Self-Respect Project: "Platforms and the '2040 Problem'" .

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Ikushi Prize was established in fiscal 2010 with the aim of fostering young researchers by recognizing outstanding graduate students in Doctoral Programs who are expected to contribute to the future development of academic research, thereby enhancing their motivation for learning and research.

The award ceremony was held on March 5, 2023, at the Japan Academy in the presence of Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince and Crown Princess Akishino and with guests from various fields in attendance. You can view the ceremony here .
