On March 1, 2023, the Keio Centre for Strategy was launched. Professor Yuichi Hosoya of the Faculty of Law has been appointed as its Director, and Professor Satoru Mori of the Faculty of Law and Associate Professor Michito Tsuruoka of the Faculty of Policy Management have been appointed as its Deputy Directors.

The Keio Centre for Strategy will organize a group of experts to conceptualize strategies for Japan and other countries to navigate a turbulent world. Its main purpose is to build an intellectual network both in Japan and abroad, to foster discussions among researchers and experts from within Keio and beyond on important short- to medium- and long-term strategic issues, and to return the results of these discussions to society.

Prior to the launch of the Centre, it held an inaugural event on February 1, inviting NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg as a guest. On March 17, it also hosted a town hall meeting with students, welcoming President of South Korea Yoon Suk Yeol.

Also, to mark the launch of the Keio Centre for Strategy, a video was released (recorded on March 2, 2023). It features remarks by Motohiro Tsuchiya, Vice-President of Keio University, and a roundtable discussion on the theme of "The Post-Ukraine World Order," moderated by Director Hosoya and featuring Deputy Directors Mori and Tsuruoka, as well as Yoko Hirose, KGRI Deputy Director and Professor at the Faculty of Policy Management.
