The 12th International Cybersecurity Symposium, "Creation of Trusted Cybersecurity Actions for Social, Economic, and National Security," was held over two days on Thursday, October 13, and Friday, October 14, 2022, at the West School Building Hall on Mita Campus and other venues.

To open the event, President Kohei Ito, Professor David Farber (Co-Director of the Cyber Civilization Research Center), Professor Jun Murai, and Professor Satoru Tezuka of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies from Keio University gave opening remarks and introduced the university's initiatives in cybersecurity. This was followed by addresses from Akira Amari, a member of the House of Representatives, and Taro Kono, the Minister for Digital Transformation.

This symposium focused on discussions of "cybersecurity." Through lectures, panel discussions, and other formats, experts from Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, the EU, Australia, France, the United Nations, and other regions exchanged views on the current situation and key issues in their respective countries and organizations. Afterward, parallel sessions were also held on themes such as digital trust, supply chains, and cyberattacks, allowing for more in-depth discussions.

Many participants from Japan and abroad, including government officials such as ambassadors and ministers from various countries, as well as industry professionals, gathered at the venue and engaged in lively exchanges.
