Director Komamura Spoke at the Conference "Privacy and Trust in the Digital Age"
Washington University School of Law and School of Medicine launched the Cordell Institute to explore the intersection of law and medical sciences. This conference was held on September 14, 2018, to commemorate its opening. As the event title suggests, the conference featured four panel discussions on the concept of privacy, which is being forced to transform in the digital age, from the perspectives of law, medical informatics, social interaction, and more.
Professor Keigo Komamura (Faculty of Law), who is the Director of KGRI and the leader of the "Digital Humanities" project in the Security cluster, gave a presentation as a panelist titled "Privacy as Trust." This event was made possible through the central efforts of three professors, Neil Richards, Woodrow Hartzog, and Ari Ezra Waldman, who are up-and-coming experts in privacy law. Recently, a trend has emerged to reframe privacy from the perspective of trust, and these three professors are leading researchers in this movement, with high expectations for future developments.
