Keio University

University of South California, Marshall School of Business, Los Angeles (United States) Feb. 2018

On February 2, Professor Akira Shimizu from the Faculty of Business and Commerce and eight Keio student delegates visited the University of South California, Marshall School of Business.

The Keio student delegates gave presentations in English on the collection and analysis of data on Japan in front of the MBA candidates of Professors C.W. Park and D. MacInnis, both of whom teach at the Marshall School of Business, based on their latest publication "Brand Admiration."

A lively discussion was held after the reports. On longevity research in particular, the two professors requested guest speakers at their own classes, believing such an initiative would have a high likelihood of coming to fruition given that longevity is a major ongoing challenge confronting developed countries. In addition, discussions on the potential of post-graduate overseas study opportunities for current undergraduate students and study abroad exchanges for graduate students were held with administrative staff in charge of overseas exchanges.

It was agreed that preparations be forwarded towards the joint hosting of a conference with the Society of Consumer Psychology (SCP), the largest society on consumer psychology in the world, to be held in Japan and towards joint publications.
