The Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care holds the Pinning Ceremony before full-scale clinical training begins, providing students with an opportunity to reflect on their future and become leaders in nursing and medical care with a broad perspective. The Pinning Ceremony, which began in 2014, marked its ninth year with 104 second-year students participating.

This year's Pinning Ceremony was held in person at the SFC Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care Building for the first time in two years. In light of the spread of COVID-19, we received video messages from our distinguished guests, and a video of the day's events was made available to parents and guardians for a limited time.

The day began with an address by Yuko Takeda, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care. This was followed by words of encouragement from distinguished guests: President Kohei Itoh, Vice-President Hidemitsu Kitagawa, Dean of the School of Medicine Takanori Kanai, and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Hidemi Misawa. Congratulatory remarks were also delivered by Mika Chaen, President of the Keio Nursing Alumni Association (Kobai-kai), and Eriko Kato, Director of the Department of Nursing, Keio University Hospital.

In addition, upper-level students offered words of encouragement to their juniors.

Many parents and guardians also watched the video stream, witnessing the students' commitment to their future. We are grateful to everyone.

With the inspiration of the Pinning Ceremony in their hearts, the students have taken a new step toward their careers in nursing and medical care.
