Ten Students Participated in a Training Program at Eulji University, South Korea

The "2018 Global Nursing Competency Promoting Program," hosted by our partner institution, Eulji University in South Korea, was held for five days from August 6 (Monday) to 10 (Friday), 2018. Ten students from the Keio University Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care (four 4th-year, four 3rd-year, and two 2nd-year students) participated, studying alongside nursing students from Eulji University.

This program was initiated after students from Eulji University participated in the "Short-Term Study Abroad Acceptance Program," which the Keio University Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care launched in fiscal year 2016. It was first held in August 2017 as a program for nursing students from Eulji University and Keio University to study together in South Korea, and this year marked the second time it was held.

According to the person in charge at Eulji University, students from Eulji who had participated in the "Short-Term Study Abroad Acceptance Program" held at Keio University in February 2018 were involved as leaders from the preparation stage of this program. They also actively supported the learning of the participating students during the program.

The participating students gained a deep understanding of the roles of nursing professionals and the skills required for nursing by comparing South Korea and Japan. They also engaged in observational training at several hospitals affiliated with Eulji University and hands-on learning at the Senior Friendly Experience Center . Students from Eulji University and Keio University were paired one-on-one for observational training and other activities, providing a great opportunity for peer learning.
