Numerous research achievements recognized worldwide

At the Keio University School of Medicine, we honor the "spirit of jitsugaku" of our founder, Yukichi Fukuzawa. In the field of medical sciences research, we focus not only on basic research but also on translational research with a view toward future clinical applications. This spirit is alive in both basic and clinical medicine departments. Furthermore, as taught by the founder of the School of Medicine, Shibasaburo Kitasato, a system has been established where those in basic and clinical medicine cooperate "like a single family," and collaborative research both inside and outside the university is actively conducted.
