【Event Overview】
The Keio Healthcare Venture Contest is currently seeking new business ideas and business plans in the medical and healthcare fields for this year's student category. In the medical and healthcare sectors, a perspective is required that takes the challenges of the field and the strong passion of those involved as a starting point, and delivers them to society as a sustainable business. In particular, how to convert the pain points seen in medical settings into business opportunities, and how to achieve social implementation within the structures and constraints unique to healthcare, are important points of discussion when aiming for entrepreneurship. In this event, we welcome Ms. Anna Nakayasu, who has been involved in healthcare investment both domestically and internationally in addition to her field experience as a physician, to give a lecture on entrepreneurial strategies for connecting field challenges to business. The content is designed not only for students interested in business creation in the medical and healthcare fields or those considering applying for the Keio Healthcare Venture Contest, but also for working professionals with a strong interest and motivation. 【Biography】
Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture and raised in Japan and the U.S. After starting her career as a physician, she transitioned to VC after completing an MBA. She was primarily responsible for healthcare investment strategies at Sozo Ventures in Silicon Valley and served as a lead partner for Portfolia's Active Aging & Longevity Fund. She joined Globis Capital Partners in June 2023. She is engaged in a wide range of investment activities, focusing on the healthcare and life sciences sectors. Currently, she also serves as the Representative Director of the Japan Healthcare Innovation Hub, a community for healthcare and life science professionals. Graduated from the Keio University School of Medicine Department of Medicine; completed an MBA at Stanford University.

"Entrepreneurial Strategies for Connecting Field Challenges to Business"
Starting from the pain points of the medical field, she will speak from the perspective of both a physician and a venture capitalist on entrepreneurial strategies to sublimate "passion" and "awareness of issues" into a sustainable business rather than letting them end as mere ideals. Participants will learn practical perspectives for considering entrepreneurship in the healthcare field, such as the monetization barriers unique to healthcare, how to choose funding according to the scale of the problem, and how to build entry barriers that will not be replaced in the AI era.
