1. Number of Positions
Basic Research Physician Program: 2 positions for 2 years at Keio University Hospital
2. Status
Resident (Full-time)
3. Benefits
Salary (Annual): Approx. 3.6 million yen (including night shift allowance)
Health insurance, Employees' Pension, employment insurance, and industrial accident insurance
Housing available (32 rooms total (determined by lottery), cost is 22,000 to 61,200 yen per month, shared by medical and dental residents)
4. Training Period
April 1, 2027 – March 31, 2029
5. Selection Process
1) Presentation on research (Specifics regarding the research you wish to undertake as a basic research physician. Approx. 15 minutes)

2) Interview

The examination will be held at the Keio University Shinanomachi Campus.

8. Eligibility
Those taking the 121st National Examination for Medical Practitioners or those who have passed the 99th or later National Examination for Medical Practitioners

10. Application Documents
Please register the following information via the Web Entry System. Please check all application documents through the Web Entry System.
Basic information (including photo) (Photo must be front-facing from the chest up, without a hat; men must wear a tie)
In the Education/Work History section, be sure to enter the start and end (including expected) dates of your history.
(Example: Entered XX/YYYY, Expected Graduation XX/YYYY)
Input for the other two items is mandatory.
Supplementary Information (Prescribed format, 1 A4 page)
Medical License (copy) (Only for those who have already obtained it)
If you have not yet obtained it, please download the [Format (Medical License Not Yet Obtained)] and upload the format as is. An error will occur if this is not uploaded.
Transcript of Records (copy)
CBT Individual Score Report (copy)
*If you have not taken the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and do not have a CBT Individual Score Report, please declare this in advance.
Self-Promotion (A4 size, please write by hand on the prescribed form)
Letter of Recommendation (copy) (From one person, such as a faculty member who knows the applicant well, addressed to the Director of Keio University Hospital)
Certificate of Expected Graduation (or Graduation Certificate) (copy)
Pledge regarding regional quotas and entrepreneurship
However, if you are an expected graduate (or graduate) of the Keio University School of Medicine, item 8) is not required.

Selection results will be determined by a comprehensive evaluation of the submitted documents and examination results.
