In April 2017, Keio University Law School established the Master of Laws (LL.M) in Global Legal Practice program, in addition to its existing Juris Doctor program for legal training. It is the first program of its kind in Japan to be offered at a professional graduate school affiliated with a law school. It is possible to obtain a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in one year with English as the language of instruction. This program aims to train legal professionals and legal staff for global companies and international organizations to be active in the global field. It accepts lawyers and corporate legal professionals who wish to improve their practical skills, primarily in English, as well as international students with an interest in Japan and Asia. Furthermore, it also opens its doors to undergraduate students who wish to work for international organizations in the future.

In addition, the program promotes partnerships with Pacific Rim countries such as the United States, and countries in Asia and Australia. It offers short-term overseas training, a six-month study abroad program, and a double degree program with the University of Washington (Seattle), supporting students in building overseas connections and networks.
