On Monday, October 17, 2016, Keio University Law School (KLS) held its annual welcomereception for incoming exchange students who arrived last month for the Fall term.2016年10月17日(月)、慶應ロースクールに学びに来た留学生を招待し、慶應ロースクール毎年恒例の「留学生を囲む会」を開催しました。(今年は過去の留学生も招待し、ホームカミングデーも兼ねての開催)
This year, the event also was attended by many KLS Juris Doctor candidates who are taking classes together with the exchange students, by KLS full-time and adjunct faculty members, and by exchange students from past years who live and work in the Tokyo area. Special appearances were made by Nels Hansen and Colin Trehearne, both former KLS exchange students who now work at internationallaw firms' Tokyo offices and teach courses at KLS among our adjunct faculty. This made the party a true "homecoming" as well as a "welcome" event. 今回は留学生と共に授業を受けている正規生(J.D.)や、専任教員、非常勤教員、更には過去に慶應ロースクールに留学していた方々も参加し、大いに賑わいました。過去の留学生で、現在は東京の国際弁護士事務所で働きながら慶應ロースクールで非常勤講師として教鞭を執っているハンセン・ネルス先生やコリン・トレハーン先生にもご参加いただき、ウェルカムパーティーとしてのみならず、ホームカミングパーティーとしても記憶に残る会となりました。
Professor Kanayama, who teaches a Japan-U.S. comparative contract classto many of the students, served as the evening's master of ceremonies. Professor Shoji, chair of the international exchange committee at KLS, greeted the participants. Vice Dean Hajime Yamamoto, chair of the KLS Globalization Committee that has led the effort to plan a new Master of Laws (LL.M.)in Global Legal Practice program, with instruction entirely in English, gave an introduction to the LL.M. program. Professor Litt, who teaches international business and comparative law courses at KLS, introduced the "Gerald P. McAlinn Prize" that will be established from 2017 to recognizeoutstanding written work done by students at KLS in English language.慶應ロースクールでJapan-U.S. comparative contractご担当の金山先生が司会をつとめ、開会のことばを庄司先生（国際交流委員会委員長）、LL.M.プログラムの紹介を山元先生（グローバル化委員長）、マクリン基金（※）の紹介をリット先生（専任教員）に行っていただきました。※2017年より設立される基金。英語での論文執筆を奨励し、優等な論文に、マクリン教授の名前を冠した賞状および賞金を授与し、広く受賞を広報するもの。If you see your future career as an international legal profession, please consider studying at Keio Law School with us.将来国際社会で活躍したい方は，是非とも慶應ロースクールへの入学をお考えください。
