Kunio Harada, Guest Professor at the Law School, Awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Star in Autumn 2015
Professor Harada has had a long and distinguished career as a criminal court judge and in other roles since his appointment as an assistant judge at the Tokyo District Court in 1969. From 2001, he served as a presiding judge at the Tokyo High Court. In 2007, he was awarded a Ph.D in Law from Keio University. After his retirement from the bench, he was appointed as a full-time Guest Professor at the Keio University Law School in 2010. He teaches required courses such as "Comprehensive Study of Criminal Procedure Law," "Comprehensive Study of Criminal Law I & II," and "Fundamentals of Criminal Practice," as well as advanced/specialized courses like "Thematic Seminar" and "Thematic Research." This awarding of the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Star recognizes his distinguished service as a judge, and it is a great honor for our Law School.
