Report on the event (to the Keio University website)
---------------------------------------------------------
Keio Law School will hold an international symposium on Tuesday, December 16. This symposium is co-hosted by Keio Law School and its overseas partner institution, the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, USA, with a view to establishing an LL.M. program in the near future. The theme is how legal education should be conducted in a globalizing era. In particular, we hope this will be an opportunity to discuss what kind of legal education should be provided from a Japanese and Asian perspective. The keynote speakers will be Professor David Kennedy of Harvard Law School and President Michael Young of the University of Washington. Speakers from Asia will include representatives from Yonsei University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Seoul National University in Korea; the Centre for Asian Legal Studies at the University of British Columbia in Canada; and National Taiwan University.
