"The U.S. Supreme Court Today: What Was the Rehnquist Court?"

―Understanding the Rehnquist Court―

Speaker: Mark Tushnet

(Professor, Georgetown University Law Center)

The U.S. Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice William Rehnquist, has often been described in terms of a "conservative" versus "liberal" conflict. Professor Tushnet argues that this contains a misleading simplification and will analyze the nine Supreme Court justices along with notable precedents. Amid rumors of a change in Chief Justice, he will discuss the past, present, and future of the U.S. Supreme Court.
