Notice of Online Legal Apprenticeship Guidance by Public Prosecutor Instructors from the Legal Training and Research Institute

The results of the 2020 bar examination were announced on January 20, 2021. We would like to acknowledge the hard work of everyone who took the exam, and our sincerest congratulations to all who passed.

As you look ahead to the upcoming legal apprenticeship, we will be holding an online legal apprenticeship guidance session by public prosecutor instructors from the Legal Training and Research Institute, as detailed in the [Guidance Overview] below.

The 2021 legal apprenticeship will differ from previous years, particularly in its start date.

This guidance session is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from active public prosecutor instructors. You will learn about the apprenticeship schedule based on the latest information in the "Apprenticeship Overview" session; the fundamental approach to and specific methods for drafting prosecutorial documents with concrete examples in the "How to Draft Prosecutorial Documents" session; and what issues arise in specific cases and what investigative methods should be used to resolve them in the "Investigation Exercises" session. Therefore, we especially encourage those scheduled to begin their legal apprenticeship in 2021 to attend.

In addition, graduates and current students are also welcome to attend this guidance session.

We strongly encourage you to participate to catch up on the latest information and enhance your skills.

Those who wish to participate should apply by email to Kentaro Suzuki, dispatched public prosecutor, at k_suzuki@ls.keio.ac.jp by Friday, February 12, 2021. Please include the following information in your email: (1) for graduates, your year of graduation from Keio Law School; for current students, your academic year and class; (2) the email address where you would like to receive the Zoom URL; and (3) whether or not you wish to attend the online social gathering (see *note below).
